NU-LED Assists Professor Kristian Hahn with his CERN Collaboration

Kristian Hahn and his research group collect and analyze data from high-energy proton-proton collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva, Switzerland, with the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment. NU-LED provides firmware engineer support services and is involved with the research group in the efforts to implement and verify the design in Field programmable gate array devices. NU-LED supports in firmware development to facilitate testing algorithm on hardware. The core uses Xilinx FPGA development tools to do simulation checks, synthesis and implementation. The tool estimates time and hardware resource used by the implemented design. The following figure gives block level design details of firmware build to facilitate testing of Algorithm processing modules implemented in FPGA.
