The S3CT element

The spin-state-selective coherence transfer (S3CT) element has been proposed as a restricted coherence transfer element in multidimensional NMR sequences ( 99JMR439-139 ), achieving the editing into two separate subspectra corresponding of the alpha and beta spin state of the attached nucleus (also see The S3E element).

The basic element is:

This approach has been succesfully applied to measure homonuclear and heteronuclear coupling constants ( 97JB181 , 99JMR237-137 , 99JMR259-140 , 99JMR32-140 ) and to remove diagonal peaks in NOESY spectra ( 99JMR499-140 ).
