1H Resolution Test

PRELIMINARY SET-UP
Standard resolution test sample: 3% CHCl3 in Acetone-d6 for 100-400MHz and 1% CHCl3 in Acetone-d6 for 500-800MHz.
PARAMETER SET
The calibration of the 1H resolution is performed using a standard 1H parameter set that can be loaded by typing rpar PRORESOL all (the pulse program is set to pulprog zg30). The resolution is measured at the half height of the chloroform line.

MODIFY SPECIFIC PARAMETERS
The test is usually performed using a sample spinning rate of 20 Hz.

The basic parameter are set to:

d1=1
o1p=7.70
sw=3.332
td=16k
aq=9.83
ns=1
ACQUISITION
PROCESSING
The AU hwcal program determine the resolution at the half height of the chloroform line.

PLOT
OBSERVATIONS
This test is used to check the homogeneity of the magnetic field. The hump (broad component at the base of the signal) should not exceed fifty percent of the inner small signals.

A 10% ortho-dichlorobenzene (ODCB) in Acetone-d6 sample has been widely used as a resolution test sample. The resolution test is performed on the eighth line from the left at half height. If the separation between the seventh and eighth line is not deep enough, one of the outer small signals can be used for the resolution measurement. In this case, the particular appearance of the AA´BB´ spin system is strongly field dependent.
