Sample: Cholesteryl Acetate

Cholesterol occurs widely in the human body and serve as an intermediate in the biosynthesis of all of the steroids of the body. Chemically, cholesterol (or 5-cholesten-3b-ol) is an steroid containing the basic perhydrocyclopentanophenantrene ring system. Thus, their 1H and 13C NMR spectra consist of a characteristic overlapped aliphatic region which can be fully assigned using 2D experiments.

A sample with 1g/ml Cholesterylacetate in CDCl3 (for 100-400MHz) or 1g/ml Cholesterylacetate in CDCl3 (for 500-800MHz) is used for the following tests:

1H spectrum
13C spectrum
DEPT experiments
2D 1H-13C HETCOR experiment
