APPLICATION FIELDS

²⁷Al NMR spectroscopy is appled on inorganic aluminium-containing compounds (zeolites ...). Solid-state NMR applications are widely used.

NMR REFERENCES

A typical external standard reference is Al(NO₃)₃ in aqueous solution (absolute frequency of 26.056859 MHz with respect to 100.00 MHz of TMS). Also see IUPAC recommendations for reporting the NMR chemical shits of all nuclei relative to the ¹H resonance of TMS (02JMR323-156).

NMR PARAMETERS

²⁷Al chemical shifts

J(²⁷Al,X) coupling constants can be measured when relaxation time are sufficiently long.

Due to its quadrupoplar moment, it has long relaxation times and therefore, large repetition rates are required.

Broad signals are usually present and difficult sometimes to be detected. Sharp signals arise from a symmetric environment.
