Organic & organometallic chemistryNMR REFERENCES
Biomolecules: Proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides and others
Labeled molecules with deuterium or tritium.
The accepted internal reference is tetramethylsilane [(CH3)4Si or TMS] for 1H and 3H and CDCl3 for 2H. Also see IUPAC recommendations for reporting the NMR chemical shits of all nuclei relative to the 1H resonance of TMS (02JMR323-156).NMR PARAMETERS
NMR EXPERIMENTS
- 1H chemical shifts. The typical range is +10/0ppm although hydrogen nuclei involved in hydrogen bonding can appear in +20/+10ppm and resonances from transition metal hydrides can resonate in the range 0/-50ppm. 2H chemical shifts can be regarded as identical to 1H chemical shifts.
- Multiplet patterns and coupling constants.
- Integration.
- Relaxation properties.
See eNMR for a complete list of multidimensional NMR experiments involving the 1H nucleus.BIBLIOGRAPHY1D 1H spectrum
